Location of the conference

The 40o Young European Radio Astronomers Conference will take place in Alcala de Henares (Spain) on July 5 - 8 2010 at Escuela de Arquitectura. This is located at the city center, walking distance of the Residencia "San Ildefonso" (on the photo above) where participants will be lodged.

One of the conference sessions will take place at the Yebes Observatory.

How to get there

We will provide a free shuttle on monday July 5th between Madrid-Barajas International Airport and Alcala de Henares. In order to optimize the pick up, please send us asap the details of your airline ticket. A similar arrangement will be made for Thursday July 8th, after lunch.
If you miss the shuttle, you may reach Alcala de Henares:
  • By taxi: ask to be driven to "Plaza San Diego" or "Plaza Cervantes", at the center of Alcala de Henares. Trip is about 20 minutes, and cost around 35-40 Euros. The residence "San Ildefonso" is at the back of the University main building.
  • By public transport: use Metro + Local train.
    • Metro: from the Airport, take metro line L8 towards "Nuevos Ministerios" (last station). Stations in terminal T4 and T2. Cost is 2 Euros.
    • Train: at Nuevos Ministerios change to the local train "RENFE Cercanias" towards Alcala de Henares (line C7) or Guadalajara (line C2, stop at "Alcala de Henares"). The correct station is "Alcala de Henares", and NOT "Alcala de Henares Universidad". Beware that the last train from Nuevos Ministerios towards Alcala de Henares is at 00:25h (July 5).
